How to Move a Refrigerator

So you want to move your refrigerator. If you are alone, forget the idea of spicy it as it may be risky to your body. I know person who has tried to move his refrigerator all by himself and ended up having fractured hip bones. Not such a steady idea, I must say.

If you want to move it up or carry it up or down a flight of stairs, you need the help of two more habitancy and a cart with wheels. It also depends on the type of refrigerator you are using. If you are using single door, this is pretty easy to relocate. In the case of two doors, French doors and side by side machines, they are more of a challenge.

You can start by removing the contents of this appliance and that includes removing compartments and any loose part that may roll over if you vehicle it. The included ice trays should also be removed. Place them in a cut off box.

Wrap the plug nearby the steel wires at the back of the engine or regain it with a tape. This will preclude you from tripping over the plug and falling off. Also, make sure the doors will not open as you change it. Tape it if you must for added protection purposes. Do not use duct tape as this may leave sticky residues and may damage the finishing of the machine. Use only a tape that can be certainly removed but will regain it tightly.

Get some to help you change it on top of a caster. This will make it easier to push it around. Make sure it stays in an upright position. If it lays on its side, it may cause oil leaking in the compressor. If this happens, it may damage the cooling properties of the machine. Also, when you tip it over in a horizontal position, the oil may damage the lines that make it function.

Also, you might want to put Styrofoams on the edges of the machine. You regularly have this in its former box. If you have not discarded it yet, use it to protect the engine from bumps as you transfer. If you do not have it, get bubble plastic and wrap it on the areas that are fragile. If the engine has a built in water dispenser, regain the water dispenser. Wrap bubble plastic in programmable Led displays.

When you have relocated it safely, do not plug it in immediately. Your engine is still "tired" from all that moving. If it is a hot weather, it is a must to let it sit first for half a day before you plug it in. If you consideration that it is not producing cold air, give it about 2 days to recuperate. It should recover its functions after that.
